Several thousand people evacuated due to severe flooding, Dazhou

Local media reports that 4,600 residents in Dazhou have been evacuated from their homes due to severe flooding following several days of heavy rainfall. Across the whole Sichuan province, water levels have risen in 14 rivers, destroying bridges. Meanwhile, in Bazhong, at least 27,000 homes are without power. Further rainfall is expected and authorities have placed the region under its highest alert level.
