Rebel attack repelled by UN peacekeepers in Bouar

Multiple media outlets report that the city of Bouar was attacked on 9 January but that the attacking forces were repelled by UN forces. The city is 340km from the capital, Bangui and is the location of a large UN military camp called Camp Leclerc. Rebels attacked the city with rockets at approximately 10:30hrs local time and fighting raged for several hours. It is unknown how many people were killed or injured during the clashes.
