Projectile reported to have struck the town of Samitah near the Saudi-Yemen border

Initial media reports indicate that a projectile fired from Yemen has struck the Saudi Arabian town of Samitah. The projectile is reported to have struck an auto repair shop in the town, killing two people upon impact. The Saudi-led coalition has released a statement claiming that the source of the strike has been traced back to the city of Saada.

Update: Saudi-led coalition launches airstrikes on Saada

Following a projectile strike on the Saudi Arabian town of Samitah, Saudi-led coalition forces have launched a series of airstrikes on Saada in Yemen. The city is reported to have been the origin point of the projectile which struck Saudi Arabian territory. At present, Saudi-led coalition forces have claimed that the airstrikes have targetted mountain caves in the area used to store weapons caches.

Update: Further airstrikes reported in Al Mahwit

Saudi-led coalition forces have confirmed that a series of additional airstrikes have been conducted in Al Mahwit, west of the Yemeni city of Sana'a. These airstrikes are alleged to have destroyed four warehouses utilised by Houthi militants to store missiles and drones, although Houthi media sources have claimed that the airstrikes targetted a civilian telecommunications structure in the area.
