Evacuations have been reported following extensive
flooding near Gympie, Noosa Heads, and the Sunshine Coast in southern
Queensland. Video footage has confirmed that rivers in the region have
breached their embankments, including the Mary River near Gympie. Emergency
services personnel are present in the area and are working to assist towns
cut off by the rising floodwaters.
