Strong earthquake reported 80 kilometres south-east of Dar es Salaam

Accoridng to initial reports, a 5.8 magnitude earthquake was reported roughly 80 kilometres south-east of Dar es Salaam at 20:13 local time at a depth of around 10 kilometres. Local reports suggest the quake was felt in Dar es Salaam, Mafia Island and Zanzibar. There were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage to buildings. Further tremors are possible in the coming hours and days.
