Update: Tropical Storm Dante forecast to make landfall near Eastern Samar

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) of the Philippines have confirmed that Tropical Storm Dante is now forecast to make landfall near Eastern Samar in the coming hours. The storm is expected to intensify shortly before landfall, and its current wind speed has been documented at approximately 75 kilometres per hour. Strong winds and heavy rain have been reported in the south of the Philippines prior to Tropical Storm Dante's forecast landfall during the afternoon and evening hours of 1 June.
