Large number of casualties reported following militant attack in Benishangul-Gumuz

The Ethiopian Human Rights Commission has reported that 100 people were killed in a militant attack at around 10:00 local time this morning, 23 December, in Benishangul-Gumuz, a district in the Metekel zone of Bulen Woreda. The attack was launched amid ethnic fighting in the region. Further violence is likely in the near future.
