Forest
fire prompts evacuation orders in Valparaiso
Evacuation orders have been issued by Chilean authorities
in Valparaiso following the outbreak of a large forest fire. The areas of
Camino Viejo Las Docas and Quintay 2 are currently covered by the evacuation
orders and emergency services operations are underway in the area to evacuate
all residents. Video footage taken from the scene shows a large mass of white
smoke visible from the Chilean coastline. No further information is available
at this time.
