US Embassy in Yangon issues warning regarding potential military activity overnight

The United States Embassy in Yangon has issued a warning regarding the potential for increased military activity overnight in the city. There are reports indicating that another telecommunications blackout may occur between 0100 and 0900 local time on 15 February. The United States Embassy has advised all American citizens in Myanmar to shelter-in-place between 2000 local time on 14 February and 0400 local time on 15 February. Social media footage from Yangon corroborates with the warnings issued by the United States Embassy, as videos and images of military forces can be seen amassing in the streets of Yangon.
