Multiple arrests made during pro-opposition rally, St Petersburg

Local media reports that at least 53 pro-opposition activists have been arrested whilst participating in a rally in support of prominent government critic, Alexei Navalny. Mr Navalny was arrested yesterday upon his return to Russia following time spent in Germany for medical treatment after he was poisoned last year. Today protesters rallied outside the police station where he is held and near the Gostiny Dvor metro station.
