Hawaii - Areas of Kailua Kona evacuated due to brush fire
The Hawaii Island Civil Defence Authority has announced that evacuation
orders have been issued for the Kona Hillcrest and Aloha Kona subdivisions of
Kailua Kona due to a growing brush fire. Additionally, Queen Kaahumanu
Highway is closed between Hualalai Road to Puapuanui Street. No injuries or
loss of life has currently been reported and there have been no reports of
structural damage.
