reported in the El Wak area of Gedo State
Local media reports indicate that a series of airstrikes have been
conducted in the El Wak area of Gedo State in Somalia. The airstrikes are
alleged to have resulted in multiple casualties amongst the rural population
of the area, although no independent confirmation of these reports has
emerged at this time. The intended target of the airstrikes is alleged to be
al-Shabab militants operating in the region. No further information is
available at this time.
