Authorities announce nationwide lockdown amid rising COVID-19
cases
The Austrian government has taken the decision to impose a full nationwide
lockdown beginning 22 November in a bid to curb rising COVID-19 infections.
Austrian Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg said the measures will be in place
for at least 10 days up to a maximum of 20 days. Under the measures,
vaccinated and unvaccinated Austrians will be told to work from home,
non-essential shops will close, and schools will remain open for children who
require face-to-face learning.
