Update: Dozens of casualties reported following twin
blasts at airport in Kabul
According to Taliban officials and health authorities, at least 85 people
have died, including at least 13 members of the United States military and 28
Taliban fighters, following twin explosions at the Hamid Karzai International
Airport in Kabul. The attacks were carried out by suspected suicide bombers
belonging to the extremist group Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISIS-K). US
military forces remain on alert for more attacks as evacuations continue at
the airport prior to the complete withdrawal of US troops on 31 August.
