Magnitude 5.2 earthquake detected north of Neiafu

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) indicates that it has detected a 5.2 magnitude earthquake offshore of Neiafu, Tonga. The tremor was centred around 148km north of the island and struck at a depth of 93.4km. There is no indication, as yet, of any significant infrastructure damage or of a tsunami warning being issued.
