Update: US Embassy
issued warning against travel to Khartoum Airport
The United States Embassy in Khartoum has issued a warning against travel
to Khartoum International Airport unless passengers have direct confirmation
of a reserved flight, a reasonable expectation of safe passages and
confirmation from the Embassy that flights are departing. At this time, the
Embassy believes there can be no expectation of safe passage and no flights
are departing from the airport. This follows earlier reports that Sudanese
aviation authorities announced the resumption of airport operations. Multiple
reports also indicate that the Sudanese military has sacked the head of the
