Update: Ukrainian officials warn residents in Donetsk to avoid
all public transit over fears of sabotage
Ukrainian officials have warned all residents in the separatist-controlled
city of Donetsk to avoid all public transit. Ukrainian officials have issued
a warning following the alleged receipt of intelligence indicating that
social infrastructure services in Donetsk have been sabotaged. The actors
responsible for the sabotage have been identified as Russia-aligned forces,
although this remains unconfirmed and unverified at this time. All residents
of Donetsk have also been advised not to leave their homes until further
notice. This warning has been issued as the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's
Republic (DPR) and Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) conduct ongoing mass
evacuations of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
