Government forces retake ground from rebels in Muidumbe, Cabo Delgado Province

The commander-general of the Mozambican Police has announced that security forces have regained control of the district headquarters in Muidumbe from rebel forces in Cabo Delgado Province. The development comes after Islamist rebels gained a strong foothold in the region over the past few weeks, even launching raids across the border into Tanzania and committing atrocities against civilians.
