Tear gas deployed amid anti-coup protest in Khartoum
According to local reports, security forces in Khartoum have fired tear
gas against anti-coup protesters near the University of Khartoum's Faculty of
Medicine. Posts on social media appeared to show hundreds of people marching
in the capital on 17 January, including a group of Sudanese doctors, who
allege some of their colleagues were killed by security forces amid recent
protests. There were no immediate reports of any casualties.
