New interim president announced

Multiple media outlets report that Francisco Sagasti has been appointed as the new interim president following the resignation of Manuel Merion. Mr Merion resigned after two people were killed in protests last week. Meanwhile, the United Nations Office for Human Rights stated it would send personnel to Peru to investigate accusations of human rights violations, most notably the excessive use of force by police which led to the deaths of two protesters and arbitrary detentions.

새로운 임시 대통령 발표
