Update: Gunshots reported in Sanchaung Township as police mobilise against demonstrators in Yangon

Social media reports indicate that the police have fired gunshots against protesters in the Sanchaung Township of Yangon. Images from the scene show bullet holes in the windows of nearby buildings and a large police and military presence. Earlier today the police utilised tear gas against demonstrators in the area who had built a barricade to slow down military movements in the area. It is unknown at present as to whether the gunshots came from live or rubber ammunition.
