Update: Axum airport damaged by Tigray rebels

State-affiliated broadcaster Fana has reported that Tigray rebels have damaged Axum airport, roughly 205 kilometres north of Mek'ele, the rebel-held capital of the region. The attack follows Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali's decision to announce an ultimatum to all Tigrayan regional forces to surrender within 72 hours. Reports from the region are difficult to verify as phone and internet communication have been disrupted by the active hostilities since early November.
