Update: Counter-terrorism operation underway in Mogadishu
following overnight attacks
Somali Police has confirmed that a counter-terrorism operation is
currently underway in Mogadishu following six overnight attacks conducted by
Al-Shabaab. At least five people were killed and 16 others were wounded
across the city as a result of the attacks. Security has been heightened
across Mogadishu and further clashes between security personnel and militants
remain likely.
