Rocket sirens have been triggered in Tel Aviv following eyewitness reports of rockets fired from the Gaza Strip towards several locations in Israel. Israel is currently experiencing a number of rocket attacks launched by militants in the nearby Gaza Strip. Although the Iron Dome defence system remains operational to intercept rocket strikes, Israel's air defence systems are not able to intercept every rocket and some rockets can impact civilian areas.

Hamas alleged to have fired rockets towards Ramon Airport

Hamas social media accounts have alleged that several rockets have been fired by Hamas militants towards Ramon Airport in southern Israel. The alleged attack follows a rerouting of several flights from Tel Aviv Airport to Ramon Airport following rocket attacks in Tel Aviv's airspace. No information is currently available regarding the extent of any damage or injuries inflicted by the alleged attack.

Official sources indicate that Ramon Airport briefly suspended operations after a rocket fired by Hamas landed in the area. No damage or casualties were reported. Official sources confirmed that the airport has not been targeted and it is operating as usual.

Police officer injured by gunfire following unrest in Ramle

Local media reports that a police officer has been injured by gunfire during unrest in Ramle. Major population centres across Israel have seen violent unrest in recent days. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered Border Police units to assist local police in maintaining public order.

The Iron Dome defence system continues to intercept rockets launched from Gaza into Israeli territory.
