Violent clashes reported and stun grenades used by security forces in Minsk protests

Local social media sources have reported the use of stun grenades against groups of protesters around the Victory Monument and the Main Square in central Minsk as violent clashes have broken out between protesters and security forces. Additionally, multiple large blasts have been heard and fireworks have reportedly been thrown. Further protests have been reported in around 20 cities across the country, including Maladziecna and Slonim, and appear to be mostly non-violent.

Update: Security forces deployed in Minsk amid anti-government protests

Belarusian media is reporting that military vehicles have arrived in Minsk in anticipation of renewed anti-government protests through Tuesday night. Additionally, roads have been blocked and metro stations closed around Independence Square and government buildings. Mobile internet is also reportedly out across much of the city.
