Junta airstrikes reported at border with Thailand near Mae Sot
According to media sources, the Karen National Union rebel group (KNU) has
confirmed that the military junta in Myanmar has carried out airstrikes near
the border with Thailand. The strikes targeted rebel-controlled areas near
the Thai border town of Mae Sot. Explosions were reported in the area late in
the evening on 23 December, local hours. Military officials are yet to
comment on the attacks.
