Update: 17 confirmed fatalities following earlier explosions in Bata

The Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has confirmed that 17 people have died and more than 400 people have been injured following the earlier explosions in Bata. There were four explosions that targeted a military base in the area. The cause of the explosions remains unknown but some reporting suggests it was the result of improper storage of munitions.
