Fire prompts state of emergency in Shasta County

Shasta County due to a large ongoing wildfire that has been dubbed the 'Fawn
Fire'. The blaze is reported to have destroyed 144 properties in the area and
is currently being treated by the authorities as an arson incident. The Fawn
Fire has spread over an area of approximately 8,500 acres and has prompted a
major emergency services response.
