Update: Hurricane Olaf strengthens as further warnings are issued across the Baja California Sur coastline

The United States National Hurricane Center (NHC) has confirmed that Hurricane Olaf has strengthened over the Pacific Ocean and is currently located 249 kilometres southeast of Cabo San Lucas in Baja California Sur, Mexico. Maximum sustained wind speeds of up to 120 kilometres per hour have been documented and Hurricane Olaf is forecast to progress north-northwest over the coming 24 hour period. A hurricane warning has been introduced between Los Barriles and Santa Fe, and tropical storm warnings are in place between Sante Fe and Cabo San Lazaro and Los Barriles and San Evaristo.
