7.1 earthquake detected east-southeast of Dolores
The United States Geological Survey has detected a 7.1
magnitude earthquake 11 kilometres east-southeast of Dolores. The tremor
occurred at 00:43 UTC at a depth of 10 kilometres. No casualties or damage
have currently been reported. Aftershocks remain possible.
Large tremors are possible after significant earthquakes
and safety measures should be adopted if they occur. During earthquake
shaking, it is recommended to follow the advice Drop, Cover, and Hold On.
Maintain cover until the shaking passes. Stay away from windows and anything
that could fall, such as furniture. Further tremors may trigger a tsunami
warning.
